Kelly Drennan is a systems thinker and thought leader devoted to making change in the entire fashion system. In 2007 she founded the non profit Fashion Takes Action, out of her desire to create a more sustainable future for her daughters. Determined to make fashion circular, Kelly has led a national stakeholder group for the past 6 years to address textile waste diversion, reuse, and recycling. She co-wrote Canada’s textile recycling feasibility report, and has spearheaded a national mechanical textile recycling pilot. In 2014, Kelly created the annual WEAR Conference, hosting hundreds of industry experts in sharing practical insights to thousands of global attendees. She is a sought-after speaker herself, having given hundreds of presentations to industry, academics and consumers, including a TED talk as part of the Global TEDx Countdown event focused on climate action. In 2017, Kelly received Canada’s Clean 50 award, where she was recognized for Education & Thought Leadership.
