Shagufta Sayani has a diverse background in emerging technologies, architecture and innovation and over 10 years experience in software engineering, product development and technology consulting with a focus on blockchain in the last 6 years of her career.
At EY Canada, she leads product development and blockchain engineering and has strong expertise in solution architecture, agile implementations, digital transformation roadmaps for building production grade, high-impact and pragmatic solutions across business lines and sectors. Her current work focusses on applying blockchain technology to help shape the world of web3. Her thought leadership has reflected on global prestigious stages like Blockchain Summit in London, The Futurist Conference in Toronto, Now Next Beyond EY Partner Conference in Quebec, Unblocking the Blockchain and moving Products to Production at Fasken, Information Security Summit at Aviva, and more. Most recently, she presented on the impact of blockchain and EY’s contribution towards United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals at the Blockchain for Impact Summit, United Nations Headquarters NY.
Before joining EY, Shagufta led software development for financial firms like JP Morgan & Chase, Nomura and Citibank. Shagufta is a trained and experienced product manager and holds multiple certifications in Microsoft’s Azure cloud and data offerings, a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO) and a Masters in Computer Applications from VJTI, India.
As a female leader in technology, Shagufta is an avid advocate for diversity and inclusion and is passionate about educating and mentoring early-career women in blockchain technology through courses at institutions like Lighthouse Labs, The Blockchain Hub at York University and George Brown College.
