Juan Miguel Arrazola leads the quantum algorithms team at Xanadu. Prior to joining Xanadu in 2017, Juan Miguel worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Quantum Technologies in Singapore. He holds an MSc in Physics from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Physics (Quantum Information) from the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo.
Juan Miguel works on quantum algorithms, with a special focus on quantum chemistry. This is fundamental research in the design of new algorithms and the identification of key application areas. The overarching goal of his work is to deeply understand how, and if, quantum computers can be used to solve important problems with performance that is beyond existing capabilities. His work also includes translating research results into software, particularly through the development of the quantum software library PennyLane.
