Elevate Tech Jam is an inclusive hackathon that brings together a diverse mix of top talent to create solutions for the greater good. We’re looking for different perspectives and talents to apply their skills towards solving some of the world’s most pressing problems. The event welcomes up to 1,000 participants, working in teams of four to six people. These teams can include developers, researchers, UX designers, artists, data scientists, civic innovators, marketing specialists, business students, and professionals of all disciplines.
All Tech Jam participants who join us for the weekend will also receive a complimentary festival pass for Elevate!

What innovative financial technologies or capabilities can we create to enable the communities around us?
Internet of Things (IoT) and Connected Living
Consumers are increasingly adopting new technologies and incorporating connected devices into their day to day lives. Rogers enables you to make more possible by providing integrated connected living solutions that are simple to use and attainable for every-day life.
How can new technologies provide solutions for the consumer experience (technical support, services, promotions etc.).
Developers, researchers, UX designers, artists, data scientists, civic innovators, marketing specialists, business students, and professionals across a variety of disciplines who are interested in collaborating.
Recruitment: we’ll have top recruiters from some of the biggest companies in Canada on-site looking for the best and brightest talent in the ecosystem. The best way to get hired is to show you have the brilliance to solve tough problems, use innovative thinking, and collaborate effectively with your team.
Prizes: winners will receive prizes and rewards such as cash, hardware, or gift certificates.
Experience: this is an opportunity to learn how to use innovative thinking to problem-solve, collaborate with a diverse and talented team, and gain exposure to recruiters and leading industry experts.

1. Will we be hacking overnight?
No, Design Exchange will close at 10pm on Sat, Sept 21 and reopen at 7am on Sun, Sept 22. We’re committed to providing a healthy, sustainable focus to problem solving.
2. If I don’t have a team, can I still participate?
Yes! You are welcome to apply as an individual. Individuals who are invited to participate will be connected with others who RSVP to form teams and make new connections.
3. What can I win?
Prize packages will be announced with the problem statements by the end of August.
4. Will meals be provided?
Yes. We’ll have healthy sustaining food options on-site for the hours Elevate Tech Jam is open over the weekend. Any meals before and after hacking hours would need to be self-provided.
5. I just applied. What happens next?
Once our application window closes on August 30, we will review all applications and send out invitations. If you receive an invitation, you’ll be directed to confirm your participation and get access to the problem statements to begin your challenge.
6. Will I be told if I am not selected?
Yes. Once all Elevate Tech Jam participant spaces are full, we’ll make sure to advise all applicants.
